Pac-Man World 2 is the sequel to Pac-Man World and appears on Playstation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo Gamecube. The gameplay has Pac-Man go through Pac-Land in a 3-D platform game and has original gameplay from the original arcade game like pac dots and fruit for points.

Story[]

One night in Pac-Village all of the Pac people are asleep. The Four Ghosts appear and decide to play around. Their mischief had caused them to pick the Golden Fruit off the tree in the middle of the village. Suddenly the sky grew dark and something crawled from underneath the tree. Pinky looked in shock at what she saw. Spooky the ghost is released from his prison. He told the Four Ghosts to take the Golden Fruit and join him to destroy the Pac People. In the morning Pac-Man wakes up and Professor Pac tells him what happened and the history of Spooky. A long time ago Sir Pacalot defeated Spooky and used the Golden Fruit to imprison him under the tree. Pac-Man must now find the Golden Fruit and defeat the Four Ghosts and Spooky.

Gameplay[]

Pac-man-world-2-5

Pac-Man being attacked by a Pac-Cub.

The player controls Pac-Man in a 3D environment along a linear, yet three-dimensional path with the simple objective of reaching the end. The game has 25 levels and 15 Galaxian mazes in 6 different environments. The plot involves Pac-Man finding five golden fruits that were stolen by ghosts. These fruits were vital to his town. Pac-Man sometimes must fight and defeat enemies in order to progress. At the end of each area is a boss. The boss is always a ghost in a giant machine (the fifth machine holds all four ghosts), excluding the final boss. There are many items to collect in this game including fruit, the traditional dots, and tokens. Each of the levels has eight tokens, as well as a 1st bonus token for achieving 100% completion on the level and 2nd bonus token for completing the time trial. Because there are 19 platforming levels, and because the Pac-Village doesn't have a time trial, you will have beat every part of the game with 100% completion except for possibly the last level if you accumulate 189 tokens. Galaxians, which show up once in most non-boss levels, transport Pac-Man into a 3-D maze, akin to the classic arcade games. Not all levels contain all of the collectible items, nor do they contain the same number of each. Tokens can be used to play Pac-Man, Pac-Attack, Pac-Mania, or Ms. Pac-Man.

Levels[]

World Level Level # Notes
Paradise Meadows Pac-Village 1 The center of Pac-Life and the starting point of Pac-Man World 2. Pac-man can encounter a cast of characters here, both old and new, who can help him out throughout his adventures. At the center of it all rests the revered Golden Fruit Tree that once imprisoned Spooky.
Spooky 25 This also takes place in Pac-Village. It is the last level and FINAL BOSS in the game.
The Bear Basics 2 This is the level that teaches how to play the game. One can Rev Roll, Butt-Bounce, and kill Pac-Cubs.
Canyon Chaos 3 This level has the Ghost with a Blunderbuss, some RGMs and a Pac-Bear. Also in this level is the find first Galaxian Maze in the game.
Pac-Dot Pond 4 Tons of buttons and Pac-Dot Chains. A lot of RGMs and stopping midway in a Rev Roll.
Blinky's Frog 5 This is the first Boss Level and it's Blinky, the Ghost. He has a mechanical frog.
Tree Tops B-Doing Woods 6 This is the first place B-Doings are seen, and first level in Tree Tops.
Treewood Forest 7 Saws are now present on this level.
Butane Pain 8 This level is pretty much the same as Treewood Forest except for the Butane Grills.
Inky's Blade-o-Matic 9 The first boss with the o-Matic machine.
Snow Mountain Ice River Run 10 The first place with the Rev Roll Rams, and slip ice.
Avalanche Alley 11 Start moving and then a giant snowball will come chase you.
Blade Mountain 12 Pac-Ranger will give you Ice Skates.

Ocean Scuba Duba 18 You don't have to move forward to go forward, the current brings you forward. As long as you don't touch anything or get close to a bomb, you'll be fine.

Yellow Pac-Marine 20 Now you're in the Pac-Sub. The fruits here appear randomly on this level.

Ghost Bayou 24 This level is not like any other level you have seen. It is the Golden Fruit Tree's Brother. He has a Maze for you. The main enemy is Skeletons, and later in the level the Wormwood tests you and asks you to destroy 20 of his "skeletal minions before the sands of time run out in 30 seconds", and if he doesn't, "his time will truly run out" (instant death).
