Taiyo Tobi (トビ・タイヨウ Tobi Taiyou) is a minor character from the Mr. Driller series. He is the younger son of Taizo Hori and Masuyo Tobi, and brother of Susumu Hori and Ataru Hori. He suffers from claustrophobia, so he wants to become a space pilot instead of a Driller. He had recently obtained his pilot license.
He appears in Mr Driller: Drill Land as a character card. He also appears in Mr Driller G In a few cutscenes.
His name is a pun on the Japanese phrase 飛びたいよ (tobitai yo), "I want to fly."
