The Official UGSF Timeline as first revealed on the site.

The United Galaxy Space Force (銀河連邦宇宙軍 Gin Kawatsura Kuni Uchuugun?, lit. United Galaxy Space Force), or UGSF for short, is a fictional military organization dedicated to advancing the goals and interests of the human population living in outer space. The UGSF first appeared in Galaxian3, in which they launch an operation to stop an Unknown Mechanized Intelligent Species (UIMS) from destroying the Earth. Future games like Star Ixiom would flesh out the UGSF and expand upon the lore of its universe. The events that occur within the UGSF universe are depicted across multiple Namco games, ranging from older classics such as Galaxian, Galaga, and Dig Dug, to more recent titles including Mr. Driller and Mizuiro Blood. Most of the games that take place in the UGSF universe are listed on the UGSF timeline, which organizes important in-universe events in chronological order.

History of the Timeline[]

Bandai Namco launched the official UGSF website on October 12, 2011. The website contained the timeline itself, a blog that was used to showcase concept art, and a special page that documented promotional material and other pieces of media pertaining to StarBlade: Operation Blue Planet. On November 24, 2011, Bandai Namco uploaded a modified version of the opening cutscene for New Space Order. The video shows a rough timeline of all the games that take place within the UGSF universe.[1] Had New Space Order released as intended, it would have been the first time the public had a glimpse of the timeline.

The UGSF timeline has gotten a relatively small amount of changes over its twenty-year lifespan. On September 9, 2014, the timeline was updated to include Shin~Gun Destroy! Girl's Tank Battalion. The timeline would then remain unchanged for over a decade until March 27, 2025, the day Bandai Namco published the release date trailer for Shadow Labyrinth. On that day, three more games were added to the timeline: NebulasRay, Galaga Legions, and Shadow Labyrinth itself. In addition, the timeline's entries for Baraduke and Bakutotsu Kijūtei were revised to better reflect their respective games.
